So here we are... Lent. DH tells me that as good Catholic's, we're not supposed to talk about what we're giving up - we are just supposed to make the adjustment and carry on like normal. While that is all well and great, I need to talk about it to get idea's, support, etc.
I'm giving up eating out at lunch time (which I was basically doing every day. Um. Expensive.), eating red meat (still holding on to ground turkey for the time being... but that may go too), and I'm cutting back on dairy. I'm also working on "Giving for Lent" - not just "giving up." I will be making at least 3 rosaries a week to be sent out to missions. I will also be making a couple swanky rosaries to be donated to charity auctions. Considering opening an etsy store to sell a couple too (so I can keep making and donating more!). A very wise and incredible woman and mom recently said to me "Think globally, act locally." And I know others have told me that as well... She is just accomplishing some of my goals personally, so it just seemed to click a little clearer when she said it.
I'm getting there... Slowly and surely.
