Garden...

Ah yes, spring is in the air and I'm already planning my veggie garden that WILL be planted next monthish. I've already lugged the old dog pen outside to be the "gate" around my garden (to keep the dogs out!) and have it set up. I've also hauled the composter over to one end. The shape of my garden will be slightly different than this plan to the right. That garden is 8x12. Mine is 8x12 with an extra little 4x4 section at the end where the composter lives. It also won't have a straight path down the center, but rather a T shaped path since the gate is on the side, not the end.

I'm so excited! :D

This particular plan is from Better Homes & Gardens (Thanks Mom!) and is billed as "child friendly." I'm pretty sure G is going to have a blast mucking about getting the garden ready with me, then will have to problem identifying all the veggies. And I can just imagine the sun in A's hair as he munches merrily on a ripe tomato. The garden is in a lovely sunny spot in the back yard and still leaves TONS of room for the kiddo's and dogs to romp and play. I think over the weekend I'll work on ripping out some of the grass and getting the "fence" more securely attached.
